Hello. I have noticed an interesting hashtag when I was looking through my favourite social media tool; Twitter’s trending topics. One of the top tag was starting with BTS and I was so curious to see what’s beyond it. As a musician and writer, I was fascinated by the unknown musical world calling me to dig in more. Eventhough I thought K-Pop (Korean Pop) was not much popular in our county Turkey, I was amazed by the crazy fan number of BTS all over the world and I saw it with my own eyes. Why BTS; Bangtan Boys is so popular? Is it their video clips with huge amount of high quality production and scenario behind it, or is it their songs lyrics which may reflect lifes of the fans themselves? Is it their hard life success story before they become so popular in young age or their modern and next generation compose of music combined with powerful lyrics? Lets see what is really laying down beyond this mysterious world which we could not realise before this impact.
BTS Proves Actually Why Music Is Universal
I have always defended that music is universal. It has no language, religion, race or narrowed region. I think this young group that I just newly met, proves me I am on the right page. Besides their own language, some of their songs are combined with English and it helps them to express deep meanings to whole world. Even you can find nearly all of their songs subtitled in Turkish via their dedicated fans all over the country. I am sure you can find in your countries YouTube too. You may think that I am exaggerating the situation but if you search them on web, you won’t believe how many results you will get. They have more fans in Turkey if you compare the Turkish stars. I think nearly in all countries, they have more fans than their local artists. Their fans are growing much more each day in all over the world as if you think not, I can prove you are totally wrong.
Their New Generation Music Are Breaking World Records
Listener number is less important than fan number according to my opinion if you are a musician or a band. The hard times they faced in their young age made their song lyrics more and more important each long day. “Not giving up” can define their success with the fans gathered around them all the time. They defeat the hard times with the great power of dedicated fans positive feedback in over time. I am not going to introduce you this seven personalities and what are their purpose in the group. If I do so, I won’t be able to express my deep feelings to you just in this one article. There is no space for it for sure. If you want to see that common thoughts, you can search on web. I want to point more important facts of their bond with people around them. Beside they won the “Best Korean Musical Performans” award on MTV, they also got the “Billboard Music Awards” which I think it has more meaning because of fans are voting for this. We are talking about a group that has taken more than 300 million votes and pass Justin Bieber. The vote number they got from fans all over the world shows their strenght and bond with their followers. Actually, they are more than you think really.
Song Lyrics Are The Expression Of Themselves & Fans Around
As a musician, I always listen the musical background of any song, not the lyrics at first. When we think in common, especially if the song is in another language; we try to catch rhythm and decide the song is good or not in less than thirty seconds. One of the best part of BTS are among their new generation musical beats, their meaningful song lyrics which they wrote themselves. When I first started to listen, Turkish fans adviced me to see the translations of the songs and consider that part too. I am glad of that because I realised their fans find their own life in their songs. Their music is fun and lyrics are excellent way to teach young aged fans about the hard life challenges. BTS has a great role in education because some realities may be hard to teach at school. Their fans try to learn their language and English just because of the bond between them. In short time, I am amazed of their hard life challenges and fans understanding their mature goals. The most important thing they surprised me is not being world wide famous, their fans see themselves as a family eventhough they are not in same location. When I am writing this article, I can feel the good vibes from their fans in different countries. In my country Turkey, you won’t believe how many student are learning a foreign language just to understand them deeper and better. Even we have to thank them just because of their attitude to fans for making it possible. It is very hard to admire someone without seeing them even once in your life. BTS has just made it and their fans knows that they are more than family, ARMY.
Their New Comeback “Love Yourself: Her” Is Ready To Conquer
While I am writing this article, they are getting ready for a comeback show. New album is on the way! 18 th of September we will see “Love Yourself: Her” album in all digital music stores. As a surprise, they are working with the world wide famous band, The Chainsmokers. Last week, they performed in a live event with them in Seoul. BTS has a huge family behind them as you can see the social media effect. Some hashtag with BTS always stays in top of trending topics even in Turkey. Their picture which has just the names of the new songs gets millions of likes and shares in a minute. Fans call themselves as A.R.M.Y. which they everytime say it with proud. Everybody should envy their relation with fans because even I want to be loved in their way. You will understand more if you read comments below in their YouTube video clips. In Turkey, I know thousands of people wants to see them in a live concert. When I was tweeting about this situation, people from all over the world was telling me to bring BTS here, Turkey. Fans in Europe were discussing to come Turkey if they have a live event here. This is really amazing and you can not know how much I humbled with that. I hope some major organizators will see this thread and take some action!
Prejudice To Korean Pop Music Should Dissapear Soon
Hardest chain to broke is prejudice. Sadly for Turkish people, it is far more. When I was gathering information about this K-Pop issue, you won’t believe the reactions I got. “Are you really going to listen Korean song?” and “Teenagers /rubbish/ pop band is not worth to examine about” was the common replies I got from some “grown-up” adults as they look like. You can not fight with stable minds aimed to believe just their own truth. I listened the rythmic harmony, learned the deep meanings of the lyrics and loved the video clips which are like short movies. Their quality and expression methods of their originality are mind blowing. So I decided to break that unnecessary “prejudice”chain facing towards Korean music industry. I really liked, amazed and excited about this mystical world of K-Pop. I hope all people from any age will try to understand and absorb the core of this industry, so we see it takes much more steps into future. Who knows maybe this huge world will gain more fans after what I wrote. Ups may be even I just turned to one myself? You decide…
If you like and see more, share and we continue next week! Thanks alot.
